Legion Of The Damned & vielfältiges Remmidemmi: Maurice Swinkels metzelt und schlachtet sich bereits seit über 30 Jahren durch den metallischen Under- und Overground. Mit Bestial Summoning hat er im schwarzmetallischen Kvlt Geschichte geschrieben, mit Occult hat er ungewöhnliche Death/Thrash-Riffs in die Mengen geschossen. Seit 18 Jahren ist nun Legion Of The Damned sein bevorzugtes furioses Gefährt, um ungezügelt Thrash-Geschosse abzufeuern und Album für Album neue Fans zu gewinnen. In der Titelstory kreisen wir um das neue Album „The Poison Chalice“, nutzen aber auch die Chance, in der Vergangenheit der Truppe zu wühlen. Wedekind Gisbertson traf die Band dazu an einem regnerischen Tag im Napalm-Headquarter in Berlin. 

Das Legacy steht ja wie kaum ein anderes Heft für unterschiedlichen Krawall und vielfältiges Remmidemmi. Dementsprechend haben wir auch keine Angst davor, die Scheuklappen vor unseren Augen zu entfernen. Deshalb gesellen sich zu den niederländischen Titel-Heroen zum einen eine Co-Titelstory mit den mächtigen Heavy-Metal-Herren von Mystic Prophecy sowie eine vertiefende Auseinandersetzung mit der Oi!-Punk/Metal/Rock-Gruppe Krawallbrüder. Selbstredend ist auch für die Experimental/Avantgarde-Fraktion wieder einiges dabei. So haben die Norweger Dødheimsgard mit ihrem Album „Black Medium Current“ problemlos den Soundcheck gewonnen – klarerweise gehen wir der Sache auf den Grund! 

Bei 242 fetten Seiten ist auch noch genügend Platz, um die finnischen Filigran-Folker Tenhi zu interviewen, mit den Death-Metal-Königen von Hellwitch das Comeback-Album anzuschauen oder mit Oath Of Cranes eine neue Band ehemaliger Celtic-Frost-Musiker in den Blick zu nehmen. Legion Of The Damned & manifold noise: Maurice Swinkels has been known for over 30 years in the Metal under- and overground for his brutal fighting spirit. He made Black Metal history with Bestial Summoning in the early days, and later created unorthodox Death/Thrash attacks with Occult. Since 18 years he has now chosen Legion Of The Damned to be his most favorite vessel to fire off Thrash Metal bullets and missiles of highest quality – gaining more and more fans with each album! In our title story we circle around the new album “The Poison Chalice” but also use the chance to talk with Maurice to dig into the history of the band and the artist. Editor Wedekind Gisbertson had the chance for a face-to-face interview with the guys at the Napalm headquarters in Berlin. 

The Legacy mag has always made certain to cover all kinds of noise, and that won’t chance. So, we are never afraid to overcome our musical and aesthetic blinkers. That’s why we invited the Heavy Metal heroes Mystic Prophecy for a long co-title story about their new album on the one hand, and, on the other hand, we closely examine the new work of Art from German Oi!-Punk/Metal/Rock band Krawallbrüder. It goes without saying that also experimental and avantgarde freaks will find interesting stuff in our new edition, as, for example, Dødheimsgard easily won our soundcheck with their latest album “Black Medium Current” – find an extensive interview with them as well in this issue.
